Thank you for your interest in applying for the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) Program at Frisco High School. You are to be congratulated for taking charge of your education and your desire to look ahead and plan for your future. Before beginning the application, you will need to compose an essay that addresses each of the following questions/topics. Use proper organization and conventions and answer ALL components.DO NOT simply type answers to the below questions in the order that they are asked. Demonstrate the ability to craft a thoughtful, well-organized, and coherent essay that meets all requirements.
- Why would you like to be part of the ISM program?
- How did you become interested in your topic/area of interest?
- What are you hoping to learn about your topic while in ISM? (Be specific).
- What specific experiences and opportunities do you desire to have in ISM?
- Provide an example of how you have faced adversity and how you handled the situation.
- Choose 3 of the core values of FHS and explain what they mean to you. Those core values are:
- Service.
- Perseverance.
- Intellectual Curiosity.
- Relationships.
- Integrity.
- Tradition.
There will be a place at the end of the application where you can upload that pdf file before submitting the application.
Please double-check that all elements of the application are completed and that all your 1st-semester teachers have submitted the evaluation form. Incomplete applications will not be accepted for consideration.

Request Teacher Evaluations
Email ALL your 1st-semester teachers before Friday, February 9, and ask them to complete the "Teacher Evaluation for ISM Applicants" using this link: Teacher Evaluation.
All teacher evaluations are due by Friday, February 16.
The applicant is responsible for confirming with their teachers that each one received the teacher evaluation request prior to the deadline.

Interview
Once the applications and teacher evaluations have been reviewed, all applicants will receive an email from Mr. Green. Those who qualify for an interview will receive further instructions in the email.
Once final decisions are made, applicants will be notified and schedule changes will be made.
